Lotta Dough
Before you go, I wanted to give you something you could have some fun with and it won't cost more than a few cents. Your mom or dad or grandparent should have all this stuff in their kitchen.
It's not a secret family recipe or anything like that, just a reminder of happier days when I was a little lass about your age.
Lotta's Home Made Play Dough
2 Cups Flour
1 Cup Salt
* Cup Water
1 Teaspoon Vinegar
Food Coloring
* Teaspoon Peppermint Extract
Directions:
1. In a Large Bowl, mix the flour and salt.
2. Slowly add the water and vinegar, and stir with a wooden spoon until
the mixture is stiff. Pick up the mixture and knead until soft.
3. Divide the dough in separate pieces for each color desired.
4. Poke a hole in the center of the piece and place one drop of food coloring and the peppermint extract. (do this for all the separate pieces, or if you want just one color per batch place 2 drops or more for YOUR special color.) Knead the dough until the color is uniform and the dough is smooth.
5. Store in a tightly covered container or a plastic bag in the refrigerator when not in use. It will keep for months if you remember to put it in the refrigerator after each play session.
To Use:
Take out of the refrigerator 5 minutes before you want to play with it. If you make a real special creation and want it to dry all you need to do is dry it for a period of 24 hours.
Have fun!!!
